About this piece
This Studio Product is a studio-approved design for a dramatic sculptural brooch, made to order in the shown configuration. Its focal point is a 1.40ct fancy vivid buttercup yellow lab-grown diamond, chosen here as a radiant cut so the colour reads with clarity and force inside the platinum structure.
The brooch is conceived as a small architectural object rather than a flat ornament. Fluted platinum ribs grip and frame the centre stone, creating depth, shadow and movement without using any blackened or coated rhodium finish. Small emerald accents sit as hidden punctuation within the cage, offering brief green flashes as the piece turns.
A single pear-shaped deep pigeon-blood red lab-grown ruby is set to one side within a hammered yellow gold foliate recess. This asymmetry gives the brooch its character: controlled, botanical, raw-edged and refined, with the ruby acting as a warm counterpoint rather than competing with the yellow diamond.

Platinum is a naturally white, dense precious metal prized for its exceptional durability and hypoallergenic properties. Its high density makes it extremely resistant to wear, meaning it holds its shape and security for stones superbly over a lifetime. The rose gold component is an alloy of gold, copper, and silver, giving it its warm pink hue. Its colour is stable, though like all golds, it can develop a soft patina with daily wear. The lab-grown diamond is physically, chemically, and optically identical to a mined diamond, offering the same supreme hardness (10 on the Mohs scale) and brilliant fire. A textured finish on the metal will highlight the material's character; this satin or brushed effect will soften very gradually with time but retains its distinctive look beautifully.
Caring for this piece
